Contract terms

What the store pays a consignor, and on what schedule. Where a store also buys outright, these describe the consignment side only.

Consignor split

40% of the Item Price for items priced at $300 or lower; 60% of the Item Price for items priced at more than $300.

Markdown schedule

Items that we accept that don't sell quickly will be reduced periodically at our discretion.

Unsold items

Unsold Fall/Winter items must be picked up within 60 days, but no later than February 10th for unsold Winter items or August 10 for unsold Summer items. Items not picked up by these dates become the property of SugarBaker's and may be donated to a charity of our choice.

What they accept

Stores are selective — brand tiers, condition standards and seasonal windows are normal, and being turned down once does not mean a store is closed to you.

Brand tier

Chicos, Coldwater Creek, Talbots, White/Black, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, Ellen Tracy, Limited, Express, Christine Alexander, Joseph A., Alberto Makali, Seven for Mankind, Joe's

Condition standard

in season, clean, in style, wrinkle-free, no smoke odors, not more than a few years old, not worn-out looking, no rips or tears, stains or blemishes

Seasonal rules

We'll only accept clothing that is in season

Not accepted

prom, wedding, or bridesmaid dresses; men's slacks, suits, or blazers

Monday through Friday between 10:00 and 4:30

Account fee

A once-a-year fee of $5.00 will be taken from your account if you consign items for the Spring/Summer season. Another once-a-year fee of $5.00 will be taken from your account If you consign items for the Fall/Winter season.
