Contract terms

What the store pays a consignor, and on what schedule. Where a store also buys outright, these describe the consignment side only.

Consignor split
60/40 split (40% to consignor) for regular clothing; 50/50 split for all other items; eBay sales: 16% deduction, then a 50/50 split.
Markdown schedule
Items are discounted after 90 days on the sales floor. High-end handbags are retained on the sales floor and gradually discounted until sold.
Payout timing
Payouts must be picked up within 12 months.
Unsold items
If unsold, they may be moved to our $2 clearance rack to make room for new arrivals. Prom dresses are held for up to one year. After that, any unsold dresses are donated to local high schools to support students in need.

Not disclosed: contract length, payout method, store credit bonus.
